Establishment
St.
Francis Health Care Services is located in Njeru
Town Council at the Source of the Nile in Uganda,
East Africa is an HIV/AIDS non-government organization
established in 1998. Its main purpose was to respond
to the growing challenges of HIV/AIDS epidemic
through sensitisation and awareness, provision
of medical care and psycho-socio support to people
living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
Mission
To
prevent the further spread of HIV and mitigate
personal, community impact of AIDS through provision
of quality medical care and counselling services
to the infected and affected population.
Goals
To
build and strengthen the capacity of the community
in HIV prevention and AIDS care, so as to reduce
the spread of HIV and reduce psycho-socio effects
brought by the epidemic.
Among
other objectives that St. Francis Health Care
Services seeks to address include;
i)
Prevention of sexual transmission of HIV.
ii)
To advocate for the rights of people living with
HIV/AIDS
iii)
To promote children’s rights especially
those affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic
iv)
To promote reproductive health and life skills
of young people through education and counselling.
v)
To liase with other organizations in the field
of HIV/AIDS in the country and beyond.
Since
its establishment, the organization has expanded
both in service delivery and coverage area.
Although St. Francis Health Care Services was
originally established to cover two districts,
Jinja and Mukono, it has attracted clients and
patients from the surrounding districts in Uganda.
They
include Mayuge, Iganga, Bugiri, Kamuli, Busia
and Kayunga.
Statistically,
St. Francis Health Care Services has registered
and attended to over 5000 clients since its inception.
As
a result of the increasing numbers, the organization
has introduced many programs and activities to
strengthen its impact on the target communities,
which include holding seminars and workshops,
carrying out voluntary counselling and testing,
and provision of medical care.

is a professional in administration/accounting/management

- Finance: Headed by a professional in Financial
Management Accounting; who will take the part
of Financial Officer (F.O)
- Counselling: Headed by a professional counsellor
and will take part of Counselling Coordinator
