Based Care
Home
based care program is one of the most sufficient
service provided to the infected population.
The
outreach program targets clients and families
at their homes. Over 200 patients benefit from
this program. The home based care staff including
a team of counsellors, medical staff pays visits
to client’s home four times a week to access
clients needs.
The
purpose of the home-based care services is to
encourage the community to participate in treatment
and support to the HIV/AIDS patients.
Knowing
well that there are some communities that continue
to discriminate HIV/AIDS Patients, which increases
stress and stigma on them hence quick yet avoidable
deaths, home based care program comes to bail
out the situation.
It
caters for treatment of opportunistic diseases,
offers opportunities of counselling the affected
families and the community, and ensures food supply
to the most needy. Home-based care also identifies,
cares and gives support to orphans and vulnerable
